Transportation Ins. – Avoiding Surprises Recording – Member

$50.00

Most motor carriers, brokers, 3PLs – and many shippers – carry insurance against freight loss or damage.  Usually these cover foreseeable risks, but often, when things “actually happen”, claims are declined or not fully paid because of deductibles, exceptions, exclusions and limitations in the policies.  Many purchasers of transportation and logistics services have “vetting” procedures or contracts that include requirements for insurance coverage – typically a “Certificate” of insurance.  Unfortunately, these certificates don’t really tell you what the actual policies say.  This team of experienced professionals will describe what typical insurance products do and do not cover, subjects like contingent liability, contractual assumption of liability, indemnity obligations, and tell you about common “traps and pitfalls” to look for to avoid surprises.
